Allied allied to Independent

Independent Travel Group early member, Allied Travel in Perth, one of the first agencies to add the group’s logo and slogans to its business brand has recently implemented the full Express Marketing program offered to members.

Allied_7372Allied Travel’s manager, Karen Branch (pictured left with Loretta Erceg, State Manager Express Ticketing Perth) said the agency joined the Independent Travel Group in April 2008 to access the Express Fares and Express Ticketing business platform.  Shortly afterwards the agency adopted medium Branding options which include using the “Talk to Us” slogan and products from Express Ticketing’s growing list of preferred suppliers.

The use of Express Marketing Tools which includes the optional new white label Express Go now gives the agency the added benefit of a strong consumer marketing strategy with a branded 24/7 online consumer booking tool and website presence.

“Essentially, we retain our strong local identity as Allied Travel on Canning Highway in Palmyra,” said Ms Branch.

“In adding the Independent logos to our shop and website we’ve been telling our clients that we’re not part of a retail chain but we remain fiercely individual with some very strong national group resources behind us that are delivering benefits to us, which ultimately benefits them, our clients,” she said.

Express Ticketing’s National Sales Manager, Jonathan Nelson said many members were adopting the use of the group’s slogans ‘talk to us’ and ‘independent travel experts’ to stand out from the crowd.

Others were adopting the online booking engine “Express Go” into their websites and utilising the enhancements of the logos and slogans to attract clients who still seek the personalised service independent self-owned agencies provide, but via the modern online environment, Mr Nelson said.

Ms Branch said that by joining the Independent Travel Group, Allied “is part of a community, not just a number” and that the group had lived up to its flexibility, transparency and TAKE CONTROL  approach.

Independent Travel Group membership had been a contributing factor in Allied’s business recovery from the GFC, she said.
