Amadeus and EVA Airways celebrate success with Altéa Suite

Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry and EVA Airways and its subsidiary, UNI Airways,today celebrate another milestone in their long-term partnership with the airline’s successful migration to the Amadeus Altéa Suite, including the newAltéa revenue management solution. 

514 EVA Airways offices and 183 UNI Airways offices were implemented in less than 12 months, making it one of the fastest IT migrations to date for Amadeus.

Over 450 flights, 450,000 Passenger Name Records (PNRs), 3 million frequent flyer profiles and 530,000 e-tickets were moved to the new system within this short period of time. In addition, over 2,000 EVA Airways agents were trained globally.

EVA Airways selected the Altéa Suite to facilitate the carrier’s entry into the Star Alliance, for whom Amadeus is the preferred IT platform provider. Already used by 60% of Star Alliance members, the Common IT Platform allows for enhanced interconnectivity and information-sharing between partner airlines, enabling EVA Airways to deliver a smooth and seamless travel experience to its customers.

EVA Airways is also the first Asian airline to implement the new Amadeus Altéa Revenue Management System to drive maximum revenue returns across their full network.

Albert Liao, Project Director of EVA Airways PSS migration said, “We couldn’t have chosen a better technology partner than Amadeus to help us transform the traveller experience and prepare us for further growth as we enter into the Star Alliance. We are extremely pleased with how the entire migration was handled. Amadeus’ strong and dedicated project team meant we were always ahead of the learning curve which helped ensure a seamless transition in record time.

The Altéa Suite is passenger service system that completely re-engineers the end-to-end customer experience and flight departure process. It also automates flight schedules, seating and re-accommodation, to improve business efficiency and performance, reducing waiting times at airports and enhancing customer service.

“The seamless migration of this major carrier is a great example of how a well-handled migration can be efficient and is testament to the effective collaboration and project management enjoyed between EVA Airways and Amadeus,” he added.

EVA Airways and its affiliate UNI Airways have also an entered into a long term distribution agreement that allows Amadeus travel agents worldwide access to the carriers’ full range of fares, schedules and inventory. Additionally, EVA Airways has also integrated Amadeus’ E-Commerce Web Design Services solution into its web portal.
