Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week (1)Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Weeks have become one of the most successful events after teaming up with professional golf organiser, Golfasian, to step up promotions for Golf in Hua Hin.

“This tournament has been highly recognised as one of the most successful events,” said Christoph Leonhard, General Manager of Amari Hua Hin. “We received a very good response from participating golfers from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, India, New Zealand, Ireland, Norway, Holland, England, Thailand and the United States, and from other golfers, who sent us enquiries for next year’s tournaments which we are sure to have.”

Christoph further stated, “As a private company, we see the growth in sports tourism, thus Amari Hua Hin considers Golf Week to be one of the activities that can help promote and encourage golfers to visit Hua Hin, taking the opportunity to reinforce Hua Hin as truly a city of golf.”

The first golf course in Thailand was constructed in Hua Hin and is still in operation after more than 91 years. Hua Hin is one of the best golfing holiday destinations in Thailand, offering internationally recognised and renowned courses, combined with great weather, good value for money and an array of post-game activities taking you all the way from the course to the spa and on to Thailand’s famous restaurants, markets and bars for a taste of authentic Thai hospitality.

“We feel grateful and appreciate Amari Hua Hin for helping promote awareness amongst amateur golfers all over the world to come to Hua Hin,” said Orasa Awutkom, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Prachuap Khiri Khan Office. “Sports tourism is one of the forms of tourism we are focusing on, especially golf tourism. TAT has set a strategy to expand quality tourism by stepping up our promotions of the golf tourism market by closely cooperating with IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operator) with its 1,600 member companies, including a wide range of business partners that provide services for the golf tourism industry from more than 82 countries. Working together with IAGTO can help us find a way to disseminate information about the kingdom’s amazing golf facilities, expand our range of contacts and boost networking of golf operators worldwide, starting from Australia, Asia-Pacific and Europe, to new target regions such as Dubai, Qatar and United Arab Emirates, due to the fact that golfers have high-spending power.”

The seven-day event will showcase the best golf courses in Hua Hin, including Sea Pine Golf Course, Spring Field, Black Mountain and Banyan Golf Club. The tournament will be played over four rounds and daily results will be announced. Individual trophies will be given out each night during Happy Hour by the poolside at Amari Hua Hin.

Set in the popular seaside town along the Gulf of Thailand, Amari Hua Hin is just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Bangkok. Offering contemporary accommodation in an idyllic garden setting, the resort sits adjacent to Khao Takiab Beach and is just 10 minutes from Hua Hin’s downtown area, providing the perfect blend of convenience, style and comfort. Amari Hua Hin is the official sponsor of Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week and will host all competitors for the duration of the tournament and also host the welcome dinner at its Shoreline Beach Club.
