EGT mediaTVThey say that Edakkal Hermitage is a very special resort right by the little known Edakkal Caves and the beauties of eastern Wayanad, right in boulder country, with the rooms at the resort amazingly built around the rocks.

image004The resort even offers a tiny, but brand new tree house, described as for a very intimate couple, an easy climb up a bamboo ramp, with great views.

The terraced premises are said to be exquisitely laid out, with soft grass and veils of Jacquemontia, with the hospitality unobtrusive and dinner in the cave is a magical experience or also under the stars.

The surrounding trees are also said to be teeming with golden orioles, red cheeked bulbuls, coppersmiths, drongoes that hide in the shrubs.

The caves area is a vigorous climb from the resort with Neolithic rock art, with a deep fissure caused by an earthquake that reminds us of the fragility of even this massive natural formation and document of the human presence.
