American Airlines and Brand USA American Dream Challenge

Last night Wednesday, 21st March, 2018, close to 150 travel trade and media joined American Airlines, and Brand USA’s American Dream Challenge at Riley Street Garage, Woolloomooloo. This event was the finale of the All American Dream Challenge, where agents had to logon to a microsite aa.com/americandream to build their dream itinerary using the All American Fare.

At the end of last week, finalists were selected by American Airlines and Brand USA and invited to Sydney for an evening of all things American. Guest enjoyed cocktails from the American Airlines Flagship™ Lounge, and partner Aviation Gin, and American fare from Corn Dogs, Fries, Pumpkin Ravioli, to Pork Sliders.

We saw five finalists from STA Travel, Flight Centre, Phil Hoffman Travel, and Destinations Travel Management compete to win the Grand Prize of the ultimate American itinerary departing this morning, Thursday, 22nd, March. The Grand Prize included two return tickets in Premium economy with American Airlines, accommodation in LA, New Orleans, and Las Vegas with some awesome activities thrown in.

The contest itself was comprised of trivia, and challenges with contestants being tested on their knowledge of American, and America, and undertaking walk offs, dance offs, and sing offs!

There could only be one winner though with William Bragg from Phil Hoffman Travel Norwood, taking out the grand prize.

Did I say there was only one winner? Our four remaining finalists in the challenge:

  1. Alice Rose from Flight Centre Barangaroo
  2. Kate Halam from STA Travel Penrith
  3. Katrina van Beusekom from Destinations Travel Management
  4. Emina Hodzic from Flight Centre Martin Place

All four finalized walked away with two return tickets Sydney to Los Angeles that can be used for travel any time before March 2019.

The audience were also treated to spot prizes featuring items from American Airlines, Brand USA, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Las Vegas. Our partner Aviation Gin also provided some giveaways.

Hosting this action packed evening was Danny Clayton, travel influencer and DJ and Dan Mac from the band Art vs. Science.The boys certainly did deliver with their witty banter, travel knowledge, and a fantastic soundtrack. With the final guests departing around 11.30pm, after A Party in The USA (everyone on stage) finale, a great night was had by all.

For winner William and his plus one James Candler, there was an early wakeup call followed by a little breakfast in the first class lounge, before they departed on their dream U.S. itinerary, flight AA 72 Sydney to Los Angeles, at 10.15am this morning.
