American Airlines Announces Victor Lee As Hong Kong Commercial Director

American Airlines has today announced that Victor Lee, former General Manager China, will fill the newly created role of Hong Kong Commercial Director.

Victor will have responsibility for all sales and commercial activity with effect from early December 2013.

Mr. Victor LeeErwan Perhirin, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, for American Airlines said:  “Having announced our new service between Hong Kong and Dallas/Fort Worth last week, we can now share this exciting news. I am delighted that Victor will take charge of commercial activities in American’s new Hong Kong office.  He has extensive aviation industry experience, having worked for a host of international airlines throughout his career, notably TransAsia Airways, Thai Airways International and Cathay Pacific. He also brings extensive experience to Hong Kong and will help American compete in a critical market.”

“I also want to acknowledge Victor’s outstanding contribution to American in China over the past seven years. He has overseen our growth to four routes in summer 2014. We look forward to him carrying on this work in Hong Kong.”

Victor Lee said: “American Airlines is a recognized global airline and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to run the Hong Kong office, especially at a time when it is poised to further grow its presence in Asia. American currently operates flights from Shanghai to Chicagoand Los Angeles and the Beijing to Chicago service. Recently, we announced the launch of a new service between Hong Kong and Dallas/Fort Worth, and also a Shanghai to Dallas/Fort Worth service. This move reinforces our commitment to expanding and strengthening our global presence, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Hong Kong is an important global economic and financial center, and there is large demand for direct travel to and from the region.”
