American Cruise Lines and Smithsonian.com Present “Exploring the American Experience”

American Cruise Lines (http://www.americancruiselines.com) is pleased to announce “Exploring the American Experience,” a new initiative with Smithsonian.com to promote American history, culture and literature.

Exploring the American Experience will provide readers with enticing educational content focused solely on the United States. Readers can retrace the steps of the adventures of Lewis & Clark, read about the gun slingers of the Wild West, Louis Armstrong’s New Orleans, or the true story behind the famed novel, Moby Dick. Exploring the American Experience with Smithsonian.com and American Cruise Lines will transport readers back in time and enable them to experience the intricate fabric of American history and how it helped shape the world.

The program will run for three months and online components will include articles as well as tailored videos.

American Cruise Lines’ fleet of elegant riverboats and small cruise ships take guests to the most fascinating U.S. destinations, including the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, the Mississippi River, and the U.S. East Coast, from Maine to Florida. The line most recently helped revive paddlewheel river cruising in America, with two authentic paddlewheelers currently operating on the Mississippi and Columbia Rivers. With four more new paddlewheelers on the way, the company has big plans for river cruising in America.
