American Express has confirmed it will renew its title sponsorship of The American Express Queenstown Winter festival for another three year term.

In 2014 American Express will mark 25 years of support for Destination Queenstown and the Festival, the last six as title sponsor, and is excited to continue their involvement.

Dean Chadwick, Vice President Marketing for American Express says, “We are delighted to be continuing our title sponsorship and see real value in the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival brand. Renewing our partnership allows us to continue to build on the momentum developed so far with the festival and the community and provides a great platform for growth in the area.”

The support of American Express will enable the return of the Winter Wonderland Ice rink, which sets the winter atmosphere downtown. Festival Manager, Lisa Buckingham, says it “creates an exciting addition and is a great downtown hub for the festival, loved by locals and businesses alike, it really creates a great ambience.”

Almost the entire portfolio of festival sponsorship has been up for renewal across all levels this year. In addition to American Express confirming their support, DB Breweries has been announced as a new key sponsor for a three year term alongside new media partner, The Radio Network (TRN).

TRN’s CEO, Jane Hastings says “TRN are thrilled to be associated with this iconic American Express Queenstown Winter Festival to celebrate the arrival of winter.  It is an iconic event in that 2014 sees the festival celebrating its fortieth year and with 10 days of totally outrageous and uniquely Queenstown events planned, it’s an even bigger reason to celebrate.”

TRN will provide media support through its entire network of radio stations, including Classic Hits, ZM and iHeartRadio, as well as their associated ARN radio stations in Australia. In addition to a comprehensive advertising schedule to promote the festival In New Zealand, an exclusive Australian radio show promotion will be run to raise the profile and awareness of the festival.

Ms Buckingham is delighted to have TRN on board, saying, “It provides an opportunity to reach the valuable Australian target market as well as providing great media reach within New Zealand. We are excited that they have chosen to join the family of American Express Winter Festival sponsors.”

DB will be showcasing its Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer and premium imported cider brand Rekorderlig in conjunction with DB Export as the official Beer for the Queenstown Winter Festival. DB Export Marketing Manager Julia Imlah says, “Once again we are delighted to be the official beer sponsor and we’re really excited to be involved. We have a number of entertaining activities in store for the Queenstown Winter Festival visitors.”

“It’s great to have such a strong line up of supporters in the festival family to celebrate the milestone fortieth birthday and I hope to have some more exciting sponsorship announcements coming soon,” said Ms Buckingham.
