We’ve always known it, but now it’s official: with only 80 thatched-roof pool villas built in harmony with the island, coconut trees jutting through ceilings, sand underfoot, and turquoise waters that edge a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas has been voted Most Instragrammable Hotel in the World by Luxury Travel Advisor. Luxury Travel Advisor is the insider’s publication for travel and tourism operatives, detailing what’s happening, in trend and up coming in the world of hospitality. The inaugural contest saw 121,000 votes cast online, with Anantara Kihavah taking 45,385.

Designed by Maldivian architects Group X Design Associates, Anantara Kihavah offers the luxury of solitude against the world’s most stunning backdrop. Natural materials and motifs inspired by Maldivian heritage fuse to create laidback luxury. With underwater dining, overwater stargazing, and swimming with mantas and turtles, photo ops abound in dazzling Indian Ocean hues.

Says General Manager, Dylan Counsel, “I would like to thank Luxury Travel Advisor’s many, many voters for recognising the unparalleled beauty of our island. We’ve been lucky to have award-winning landscapers, architects and interior designers working in harmony to perfect our surrounds, and their good work is enhanced everyday by the resort team who take care of our island, reefs and ocean with such dedication and add the small touches that perfect the guest experience”.

About Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas Within a lagoon of jewel-toned hues lies a shell-shaped island fringed by impossibly wide stretches of beach. Uninhabited islets dot the horizon of deep sapphire Indian Ocean beyond. Nature reigns at Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, dressed in sophistication and wonder. Sleep and spa overwater. Dine below the ocean’s surface. Gaze at the star-filled sky from the Maldives’ only observatory. Cruise with dolphins or snorkel with majestic manta rays and hawksbill turtles. Situated on the western Baa Atoll in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah is a 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé and Velana International Airport.
