Anantara Vacation Club, a unique shared ownership concept, continues to earn industry recognition for its first purpose-built Signature Club Resort, Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao.

The stunning new resort just received the award for “Best Shared Ownership Development” for the second year in a row from the South East Asia Property Awards, a highly prestigious annual industry recognition program.

Now in its third year, the South East Asia property awards celebrate the best of the region’s luxury residential property sector by shining the spotlight on the high caliber work within the industry.  The awards recognize superior architecture, interior design as well as property management services.  Open since this past June, Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao has already garnered nods from other industry award programs, including “Best Shared Ownership Development” in Thailand two years in a row and a “Highly Recommended: Best Architectural Design” from the Thailand Property Awards.

With a design by the award-winning Stephen O’Dell of SODA, the resort’s layout and architecture are inspired by its unique location on the edge of the Sirinth National Park, a lush tropical environment adjacent to Mai Khao Beach. The surrounding verdant foliage provides the serene backdrop for a contemporary Thai village that takes its cultural cues from the peaceful rural landscapes that dot the countryside.

Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao offers 70 luxurious suites and 30 spacious pool villas along with a swim-up lagoon pool, kids club, state-of-the-art fitness centre and an assortment of restaurants and bars.  The architecture and interior styling seamlessly merge traditional Thai with contemporary design, creating a signature Thailand resort experience.  Building materials include local laterite stone, tropical woods and bamboo.  Works of art created by artisans from Phuket and Chiang Mai are found throughout the resort’s guest rooms and public spaces. The architectural and interior design also minimizes its footprint with the use of locally-sourced sustainable materials and energy efficient systems and operations.
