Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao Celebrates The Coming Holidays With Several Special Events For The Entire Family

Anantara Vacation Club, a luxury shared ownership concept, invites guests traveling to Phuket to celebrate the upcoming holidays with a series of special events designed to delight, inspire and give back to the local community at their property Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao.

Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai KhaoSpecial events celebrating Halloween, Loy Krathong, Christmas and New Year’s Eve are perfect for all ages, featuring culinary specials, traditional ceremonies, live entertainment and arts and crafts.

“In the coming months, we mark many important holidays in Thailand and around the world,” said Lyndon Ellis, General Manager of Anantara Vacation Club Mai Khao. “We are delighted to invite our guests to celebrate these holidays with us at Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao.  We will observe traditional ceremonies, offer sumptuous feasts and give back to our local community – all while having fun for the entire family.”

Special events marking the upcoming holidays include:

  • Halloween Buffet – During the month of October, enjoy a special buffet at Chaam Restaurant, the hotel’s signature restaurant.  The buffet will feature Thai favorites, such as green papaya salad, garlic chili prawn kebabs, grass-fed beef striploin along with favorite sweets like bamboo sticky rice and coconut ice cream.  Cost is THB999 per person. Children can enjoy spooky arts and crafts, fun games and a movie at the Jakka Club all day long.
  • Loy Krathong, Thursday, November 6 – Celebrate the magical festival of Loy Krathong with an exquisite Thai buffet at Chaam and a visit from Miss Noppamas, a beauty of legend from the court of Sukhothai 700 years ago. Then, release your worries and troubles by floating your own candlelit krathong into the blue waters of the pool.  Children’s activities include arts and crafts and fun games.  Cost is THB899 per adult and THB499 for children ages 4 – 12 years.  Advance reservations are recommended.
  • Teddy Bear Christmas, December – During the month of December, guests at Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao will have an opportunity to purchase a Teddy Bear to benefit the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation, a local charity that provides education to disadvantaged kids from Phuket’s poorest areas.  Guests can choose either to keep the teddy bear, or place it under the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby, where it will be donated to the local children. Teddy bears are THB400 each.
  • Christmas Eve Buffet at Chaam – Guests staying at Anantara Vacation Club Phuket will enjoy a festive buffet at Chaam featuring Asian favorites alongside classic holiday dishes.  Accompanied by the festive voices of live Christmas carolers, the Christmas Eve buffet will offer a wide selection of dishes to appeal to all ages and palates.  Selections include a pasta station and salad bar along with a grand carvery featuring fresh turkey and Virginia ham.  Favorite Pan Asian dishes will include Atlantic dory braised with Thai curry, fried rice with black mud crab, and others.  Sweet treats include traditional Christmas plum pudding, mango cheesecake, and coconut ice cream.  Buffet prices start at THB1150 per adult and THB575 for children ages 4 – 12 years.
  • Christmas Day at Chaam – On Christmas Day, after the presents are opened, guests will enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch featuring pumpkin cream soup; honey Virginia ham served with mashed potatoes and carrots; or roasted turkey with caramelized onion and sage stuffing served with oven roasted potatoes, brussels sprouts and cranberry sauce.  Dessert is Christmas pudding with brandy and apple anise sauce.  Christmas brunch prices start at THB900 per person.
  • New Year’s Eve at Chaam, December 31 – Ring in the New Year with a delicious Pan Asian buffet dinner at Chaam and live entertainment.  Specialties include stuffed crab shell, vegetable spring rolls, a cold seafood bar with fresh oysters, an Indian tandoor station, and a grand BBQ grill station with a choice of squid, prawn, baby-back pork ribs and chicken.  Dessert will feature a selection of Anantara’s homemade puddings.  Dinner will be accompanied by a live performer who will sing holiday favorites. New Year’s Eve starts at THB1250 for adults and THB625 for children.
  • Children’s eGreeting Card Contest – The youngest guests are invited to draw or paint a picture of themselves on holiday at Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao. The winning entry will be used as the image for the AVC eGreeting card and the family will enjoy a complimentary dinner for four during their next visit to an AVC Signature Club Resort.  Entries can be submitted between November 1 – December 15 at the Jakka Kids Club and in the front lobby.
