More than 300 cats and dogs will be looking for their fur-ever homes at Australia’s biggest animal rescue day at the Brisbane Showgrounds tomorrow.

The RSPCA’s Big Adopt Out will see 20 animal rescue groups come together in The Marquee to help animals doing it ruff start off again on the right paw.

Around 8,000 potential pet owners are expected to attend the event, which is now in its sixth year, to fetch their purr-fect furry friends.

Brisbane Showgrounds General Manager of Venue Sales and Marketing Jago Coyle said it would be a busy weekend at the Showgrounds, with several other events also underway.

“We’re expecting more than 13,000 people at the Showgrounds over the next three days, with the Eco Expo drawing a crowd to the Exhibition Building from today and Drought Appeal Photography Exhibition on at Stockmen’s Bar and Grill tomorrow night,” Mr Coyle said.

“There is also a gala dinner and ball in our world-class Royal International Convention Centre – with more than 20 versatile venues at the Showgrounds we’re able to hold multiple events at any one time.”

The Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is

Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
