Australians are queuing up to cruise the world’s southernmost continent with demand for bookings stronger than ever.
Passenger numbers for Chimu Adventures to the Antarctic Peninsula have more than doubled since 2008, says Chimu boss Greg Carter, with the upward trend climbing sharply over the past 18 months.
“This is a destination like nowhere else on the planet,” he said.
“Untouched by humans, there is no development, the landscapes are ethereal, the wildlife abundant.
“This is one of the most wildly beautiful places to travel in the world and it is back on the bucket list for Australian travellers.”
With limited cabins left for the 2015-16 Antarctica cruise season between now and March, Carter says bookings need to be made soon.
Special guest departures in 2017 are also on sale now:
* Epic Antarctica with Samuel Johnson March 2017
Take a polar plunge with the Aussie actor behind breast cancer awareness charity, Love Your Sister, and help raise funds for the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. $5950 USD
* Pure Antarctica with Andrew Denton Feb 2017
Join much-loved media personalities and serious Antarctica fans on what will be their 11th trip between them. Enjoy on board lectures from the pair and the rare chance to chat with the vastly knowledgable world adventurers. From $7595 USD
