Sovereign Hill has announced that its new multi-sensory sound and light show Aura will officially open on February 8th, 2019.

The new show, featuring state-of-the-art projections and detailed historical sets, will place the visitor right in the centre of the action, as stars explode in front of eyes, land is transformed by the gold rush, and the Eureka Rebellion comes to life as never before.

“The final touches are currently being completed for this incredible new show, and the anticipation and excitement are building as we prepare to launch Aura in February,” says Sovereign Hill CEO, Professor Terry Lloyd.

Originally slated to open Boxing Day, the sheer magnitude of the show has seen it take a number of creative turns, and the new February launch date will allow Sovereign Hill to nurture that creative process and release a show that fully realises its creative vision.

“Aura is truly an incredible piece of work, and we expect it to far exceed visitors’ expectations when it launches. Set under the stars, and featuring hundreds of stunning projections to create an immersive storytelling experience, the show has been a creative labour of love for the teams working on it, and we look forward to presenting it to our visitors.” adds Terry.

Designed by Accolade, the brains behind White Night and the Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, together with Sovereign Hill’s own historical experts, Aura is the story of how gold revolutionised Australia, and will take guests of all ages on an adventure as they witness the creation and discovery of the world’s most precious metal.
