As well as the owner of Bicton Travel, Carole is recognised as one of the foremost cruise experts in Australia. Having cruised the world extensively, three years ago she established cruisefinder.com.au as an online cruise agency to cater for the ever growing internet market. Commenting on her forthcoming role as AmaStella’s Godmother, Carole said, “For cruise enthusiasts such as myself, being invited to be a ship’s Godmother is the ultimate honour. I am looking forward to the blessing, and most importantly, to setting sail aboard this fine luxury vessel. Clients will definitely be hearing all about this unforgettable experience.”

Joining Carole at the christening ceremony will be APT Group company director Robert McGeary and managing director Chris Hall.

For the first time the event will take place in the evening and APT has extended an invitation to attend to the local Vilshofen community.  Local residents have been invited to join the festivities at the ceremony, which commences at 8.30pm at the main pier. A blessing will take place by a local priest and Vilshofen’s Mayor, Florian Gams, will also welcome the ship to the locality.

The 158-passenger AmaStella will sail the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers in 2016 and offers innovative design features including twin balconies (an APT exclusive) and spacious suites that measure up to 350 sq. feet.

Guests travelling on APT Collection cruises aboard AmaStella in 2016 will also enjoy a choice of up to seven dining experiences, including the Chef’s Table Restaurant; unlimited fine wine, spirits and beer served at their discretion; a heated pool with swim-up bar; massage and beauty salon and fitness studio; and complimentary in-room Internet, Infotainment and Wi-Fi. The AmaStella also carries a fleet of bicycles on board.

Robert McGeary’s father, APT company owner Geoff McGeary, is a co-owner of US travel operator AmaWaterways. Together the partnership builds and operates an impressive fleet of the best river cruise ships in the world, both in Europe and Asia.
