APT has today announced its luxury Mekong rivership, RV AmaLotus, will undergo a significant refurbishment ready to set sail on the 1 August 2016.
Details have been revealed in the award winning luxury travel operator’s new Vietnam & Cambodia 2016/17 brochure, which is available in travel agents from today.
The newly designed AmaLotus will offer 54 luxuriously appointed balcony suites and will be used exclusively by APT. All suites feature a fully stocked mini bar and offer a free daily laundry service as standard. In addition, Sadec Suites also include a Silver Butler service plus a free spa treatment and a daily fruit platter. Guests staying in the Owner’s Suite enjoy all the benefits of a Gold Butler Service as well as extra laundry services, nightly pre-dinner canapés served in their suite and a welcome bottle of Champagne.
APT’s Asia Ambassador, acclaimed chef, author and television personality Luke Nguyen, is heavily involved in the restaurant and menu design of the newly refurbished ship, which offers three dining destinations.
Private dining for 16 guests at ‘Indochine by Luke Nguyen’ is one of the many new features. All guests travelling with APT in 2016 will have the chance to sample the six course degustation dinner served at the restaurant. In addition they will enjoy a special on board Signature Welcome Dinner designed by Luke himself.
Another exceptional new dining location for the AmaLotus will be Le Viet Nam Café situated on the Sadec Deck. A French-inspired air conditioned café, it will serve up morning and afternoon tea to all guests as they relax and watch the world go by. Also offering a place for guests to relax and recharge is the new Lotus Spa and Wellness Centre.
As well as assisting with the new ship design, Luke will also host two tours in 2016.
The 14 Day Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam and Mekong River Cruise departs on 29 July and 2 December 2016. Both commence with three nights in Saigon, where Luke hosts a walking tour taking guests to sample street food and see where his own parents grew up. Guests will also attend a cooking class at his Grain Cooking School and enjoy several special dinners, including a special onboard welcome dinner personally prepared by Luke. In addition every guest on the AmaLotus on 1 August and 5 December 2016 will have the chance to attend a small group ‘Getting to Know You’ session with Luke.
As well as the new ship design, APT has also announced 16 new itineraries. Most popular itinerary is APT’s 13 Day Vietnam and Cambodia Highlights. APT is also offering itineraries that provide guests the chance to combine their holiday with a trip to Sapa, Ha Long Bay or the Central Vietnamese coast as well as China or Myanmar.
APT’s Vietnam and Cambodia itineraries of 13 days or longer all feature the new addition of three nights in Siem Reap for 2016. Guests will stay at the Hotel Sofitel Angkor, enjoying sightseeing highlights such as a champagne sunrise at Angkor Wat followed by the chance to explore the highlights of this World-heritage listed site. Freedom of Choice touring in Phnom Penh is also a new feature with guests offered the Royal Palace, a Tuk Tuk ride, the National Museum and the Killing Fields as options.
