Award winning luxury cruise and tour operator APT has announced it has become a major sponsor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and its highly regarded Master Series.

The APT Master Series is the SSO’s flagship concert series at the Sydney Opera House and each year showcases some of the world’s biggest musical stars performing music from the very heart and soul of the SSO repertoire.

Commenting on the two year partnership, APT General Manager Marketing and Sales, Debra Fox, said, “We are delighted to be working with one of Australia’s leading cultural institutions. There is a natural synergy between APT’s brand and the SSO and its supporters. Just as we are dedicated to delivering unforgettable travel experiences, the SSO prides itself on continually wowing its audiences with unforgettable performances. We look forward to leveraging some exciting joint opportunities throughout our ongoing relationship, many of which will be aimed at generating support for our travel industry partners.”

According to SSO Managing Director Rory Jeffes, APT is the perfect partner for the SSO.

“Both the SSO and APT are focused on excellence in all our offerings – whether it’s a performance at the Sydney Opera House or a river boat cruise in Europe – our two organisations share a belief in experiences of the highest quality. I am confident that this is the start of an extremely beneficial partnership for both companies.”

The 2014 APT Master Series continues this month with a program titled ‘Russian Daydreams’ featuring music by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev (Wed 12, Fri 14 and Sat 15 March).

The nine programs of the 2014 APT Master Series also features new SSO Chief Conductor and Artistic Director David Robertson conducting all the Beethoven piano concertos with star soloist Emanuel Ax, , Richard Strauss’s hauntingFour Last Songs with American soprano Christine Brewer, and the affectionate musical portraits of Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
