Sophisticated safaris and authentic cultural experiences are at the heart of every single APT Africa itinerary in 2016, with the award winning luxury travel operator introducing two new itineraries, a new river cruise safari and a host of new private luxury game reserves to its popular touring program.
The new Africa Small Group Safari’s 2016/17 brochure is available now and features South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Botswana, Rwanda and Namibia.
One of the new featured tours the new nine-day Kenyan Discovery tour which takes guests to the Samburu Game Reserve and Masai Mara, with the opportunity to visit local villages to learn more about customs, culture and daily life. It also features two nights at the Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club; a bush dinner in the Masai Mara and the chance to experience a private performance by the Kenyan Boy’s Choir.
Also new is the 12-day East Africa which journeys to Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, Ngorogo Crater and the Serengeti National Park before crossing to Kenya to visit the Masai Mara and Nairobi. Guests stay in luxury camps and game lodges, including Coffee Lodge on a plantation in Arusha, Tarangire Balloon Camp, the Four Seasons Safari Lodge in the Serengeti and Karen Blixen Camp in the Masai Mara.
Travel agents can also offer clients exclusive access to APT’s new three night river cruises on the Chobe River, which feature on ten of the itineraries in APT’s Africa portfolio.
This spectacular river cruise safari onboard Botswana’s Zambezi Queen offers the chance to see hippos, elephants, buffalo, lions and leopards congregating along the river banks. With just 14 suites, the Zambezi Queen features internet access, plunge pool, sun deck and shaded area, as well as an open restaurant and lounge area with panoramic windows for viewing the animals. In 2016 these will be available for two and three night cruises.
Three new private game parks have been added to APT’s South African tours. A highlight is the chance to see the rare white lion at Msenge Bush Lodge at the Pumba Private Game Reserve. Guests can also stay at Madikwe Safari Lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve, or at Lion Sands River Lodge at Tinga Lodge.
APT is tipping its seven-day Namibian Air Safari to be a popular choice for photography fans in 2016. Commencing in Windhoek, guests are taken on a private plane journey to see the amazing landscapes from a bird’s eye view. Highlights include staying in a luxury lodge set on the colourful sand dunes of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, exploring the remote regions on 4WD nature excursions, heading out on private game drives, staying at the luxurious Onguma Fort surrounded by the open salt pans near the Etosha National Park. This new itinerary is available as part of the 21-day South Africa Highlights & Namibia Air Safari.
Commenting on the new program, APT Chief Marketing Officer, Debra Fox, said, “Africa is really special. No matter where guests travel, they are sure to experience unforgettable moments; from game viewing, which we now feature on every itinerary, to the chance to meet local people to learn about their history, way of life and local customs. We’re really excited about our new Africa program and we look forward to working with our industry partners to open up the doors to one of the world’s most magical destinations.”
