APT’s new Burma River Cruising Program will take guests on an unforgettable journey of discovery according to the company’s General Manager Marketing, Debra Fox, “We’re really excited to be offering guests the chance to explore the untouched essence of this beautiful nation.

Adding to the intimacy of our program is that fact they will travel aboard the AmaPura, our brand new river ship which, with just 28 suites, is quite unique to the rest of our fleet and offers guests the chance to enjoy boutique river cruising at its finest.”

The brochure features three itineraries ranging from 14 to 20 days, offering a total of 18 departures. Two of the departure dates (20 February 2015 and 14 April 2015), feature exclusive companion fly free deals, with taxes included, when guests book their holiday and flights through APT.

At the heart of each departure is an Irrawaddy boutique river cruise aboard the custom-built AmaPura, which on the 14-day Golden Treasures of Burma itinerary takes guests between Pyay (Prome) and Mandalay; and on the 16- and 20-day Hidden Wonders of unnamed (8)Burma guests sail from Mandalay to Yangon, with an extension to Inle Lake on the longer itinerary.

Available to Australian and New Zealand guests only through APT, the AmaPura is a unique fusion of modern luxury and traditional and local design touches. Its 28 lavish suites offer accommodation for just 56 guests, all of which feature a French balcony, a step-out full balcony or twin balconies. Measuring from 26 to 39 square metres, all suites feature: a well appointed ensuite with quality bath amenities; robes and slippers; a sitting area; individual climate control; a spacious closet; a safe; and comfortable linens.

The staff to guest ratio onboard is 2:1 affording guests exceptional levels of service. The ship’s elegant public areas include a restaurant, main lounge and bar, gift shop, spa, refreshing pool and a Sun Deck perfect for lounging, enjoying a cool drink, or simply gazing out at the passing scenery.

All meals aboard the AmaPura are included and are freshly prepared by chefs and served in the ship’s restaurant. Complimentary house wine, local beer and soft drinks are also included with every lunch and dinner onboard.

One of the world’s most secretive, mysterious and fascinating places, Burma has a unique centuries-old culture and spectacular architectural wonders, including sacred structures gilded with gold leaf and encrusted with precious gems. APT’s river cruises are carefully crafted to hit all the country’s highlights, with Signature Experiences including:
