EGT mediaTVAny tourism marketing organisation’s dream has to be having such awesome places such as Cairns, Palm Cove, Port Douglas, the Daintree, Cape Tribulation, the Great Barrier Reef and much more in its portfolio.

Well, that is just taste of what Tourism Tropical North Queensland has to market, with TTNQ described as the peak regional visitor destination marketing organisation for Tropical North Queensland, membership based, industry funded, incorporated private company, limited by guarantee.

Recently I met with Dale Flack, TTNQ’s media and brand marketing manager and he brought me up to speed with what is happening in Australia’s tropical paradise region, which makes up 20% of the total area of Queensland, but is home to only 6% of the Queensland population, with the region best known as the gateway to the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforests (the only place in the world where the ‘rainforest meets the reef’.

The region encompasses areas Cape York Peninsula and Torres Strait in the north, Cairns, Cairns Beaches, and Palm Cove, Port Douglas, Daintree and Cape Tribulation, Cooktown, Gulf Savannah, Kuranada, Atherton Tablelands and Mission Beach and south to Cardwell, with TNQ Australia’s third most important holiday destination after Sydney and Melbourne and remaining Australia’s most popular holiday destination for Japanese visitors.

With tourism the main economic driver of the regional economy, contributing $2.2B a year and $12.4B in the last 5 years to the regional economy, check out what Dale had to tell me by clicking on the video box below.
