Arts Centre Melbourne is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Singapore Airlines. The two-year partnership, which begins in October, will support Arts Centre Melbourne and its vision to enrich the lives of all Victorians culturally, educationally, socially and economically.

As Vision Partner of Arts Centre Melbourne, Singapore Airlines will support Asia TOPA (Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts).

Created by Arts Centre Melbourne and presented by a consortium of Melbourne’s leading cultural institutions, Asia TOPA is a triennial festival of Asian-focused performance and culture. From the hottest contemporary performance to the boldly iconic and sublimely classical, Asia TOPA celebrates Australia’s connections with contemporary Asia.

Asia TOPA 2020 will further position Melbourne firmly on the Asia-Pacific cultural map in terms of innovation, new ways of working and exciting inter-cultural commissions and collaborations. The team has already joined international cohorts including the West Kowloon Cultural Authority (Hong Kong), the Singapore Festival, TPAM (Tokyo), The Esplanade (Singapore), and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (South Korea) in planning and developing creative repertoire for 21st century audiences.

“I’m delighted Arts Centre Melbourne is collaborating with Singapore Airlines on this new partnership and I thank them for their generous support.  Their commitment to excellence in the arts makes them the perfect partner particularly in relation to our connections with Asia through our upcoming Asia TOPA festival in 2020,” said Claire Spencer, CEO, Arts Centre Melbourne.

Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President, Mr Philip Goh, said the new partnership with Arts Centre Melbourne continued Singapore Airlines’ longstanding commitment to the arts in Australia.

“Since we began our operations to Australia more than 50 years ago, we have proudly supported a number of organisations, exhibitions and galleries across the country,” Mr Goh said.

“We very pleased to extend this support to the Arts Centre Melbourne as their Vision Partner and look forward to delivering high quality, culturally significant Asia TOPA performances that will educate and entertain.”
