“I was thrilled but also very surprised to be named the Best Travel Writer, considering the calibre of the other writers I was up against! It’s very gratifying to be acknowledged for a subject I have a particular passion for and have spent the last 10 years writing about,” said Julie Miller.

Julie is a freelance travel writer, author and scriptwriter who makes a living doing the things she loves best – travelling, getting out into nature and writing. She is widely published in Australia and internationally and is the author of four non-fiction books.

ASTW President, Danielle Lancaster said: “Congratulations to Julie and all the finalists on behalf of the ASTW community. We are thrilled at the recognition of talent within the Society and encourage members to take opportunities such as NTIA to profile their work”.
