Atmosphere Welcomes Mixologists from Award-Winning Candelaria For a French Reunion in Beijing

Beijing’s highest luxury bar, Atmosphere at China World Summit Wing, Beijing, continues to bring renowned international mixologists and their exceptional drinks to cocktail lovers in the city.


Having been recently included in the exclusive “Bars to Watch 2015” list by the judges of “The World’s 50 Best Bars”, Atmosphere will round up a series of guest mixologist visits in 2015 with co-owners and mixologists of the award-winning Candelaria located in Paris.

Josh Fontaine and Carina Tsou will host “A French Reunion in Beijing” with eight original cocktails from 3 to 7 November 2015, priced at RMB120 per glass, subject to a 15 per cent service charge.

In the past year, Atmosphere has welcomed four world-class mixologists bars who are all recognised at the prestigious “The World’s 50 Best Bars 2015”.

Mixologists who have visited Atmosphere for week-long guest bartender stints since 2014 include Luca Cinalli from Nightjar of London (ranked third in the list), Cihan Anadologlu from Schumann’s of Munich (ranked 43rd), Steve Schneider from Employees Only of New York (ranked fourth) and Simone Caporale from Artesian of London (ranked first).

A cult favourite hide-away in Paris, Candelaria has garnered international recognition for its exceptional drinks and service since the bar started operations in 2011. It has been included in the “World’s 50 Best Bars” list for past four years, including 2015 (ranked 12th). The bar was nominated for Best International Cocktail Bar in the global-renowned “2015 Spirited Awards”, which recognises the best in the industry worldwide.

Carina was also nominated for International Bartender of the Year at the same awards and Joshua is the El Jimador Bartender Cup 2011 champion.

Guests can sit back and sip on eight creative concoctions from the original menu that put the bar on the global mixology map. Taking a detour from the prevalent speakeasy style, the crew will not disappoint with drinks crafted with exceptional ingredients, such as their own handmade syrups, fresh juices and infused spirits – a nod towards their culinary focus in the Parisian taqueria and bar.

Guests can enjoy a taste of the sunny Caribbean with Rhum à la Mer, a bittersweet campari-based creation mixed with Gosling’s Black Seal Rum, pineapple syrup, falernum, Fernet-Branca and absinthe.

Dolce Vita is a popular cocktail of refreshing botanical aromas with its simple, but delightful combination of three spirits – barrel-aged Citadelle Gin Réserve, which has been infused with fragrant olive oil, citrusy Cocchi Americano, and La Quintinye vermouth.

Fans of layered cocktails will not be disappointed with the tequila-based Garden Fizzwith its depth and pine-y herb fragrance. Bold flavours of the distilled agave is mixed with sharp galangal-kaffir syrup and balanced with fresh lime juice and ginger beer, and then topped with creamy pasteurised egg white.
