The Australian Airports Association has welcomed today’s release of the Ipsos Infrastructure Index, highlighting strong satisfaction with Australian airports.

The survey found 67% of Australians surveyed considered airports to be very or fairly good, compared to 49% for motorways and major roads, and 45% for rail infrastructure.
AAA Chief Executive Officer Caroline Wilkie said the results of the survey highlighted the significant investment in Australian airports since privatisation.
“Airports are critical drivers of our economy and an essential part of our transport network,” Ms Wilkie said.
“The survey results are a strong endorsement of airports’ investment, with $7 billion invested to improve the customer experience and support passenger growth in the last 10 years.”
Ms Wilkie recognised that more than half of respondents called for the country to do more to meet our infrastructure needs, and said airports were already investing in the future.
“We know efficient infrastructure is critical to economic growth and Australia’s airports already have significant investment plans for the next decade,” she said.
“Their ongoing focus on improving efficiency and meeting changing customer needs will ensure our airports remain at the forefront of the industry for many years to come.”
The survey also found 80% of Australians surveyed were satisfied with their last journey by air.
“Our airports are working closely with airlines and government agencies to ensure passengers have a seamless, easy and enjoyable experience when they fly.
“The survey highlights this customer focus is delivering results as passenger numbers continue to rise.”
