Bondi local, and SureSave’s National Sales Director, Talbot Henry, became the fastest Australian to complete the cross-continental swim from Europe to Africa.

Taking to the water last month in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Talbot finished in record time – 3 hours 30 minutes – becoming one of only 17 Australians to ever complete the swim. Beginning in Spain, Talbot crossed the Strait of Gibraltar to complete the epic feat, returning to shore in Morocco.
With an aim to raise $10,000, Talbot and swimming teammate, Davide Bini, exceeded their initial goal, with over $14,000 of donations rolling in for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. This is a charity which is particularly close to Talbot’s heart and has assisted him and his family, as his father battles prostate cancer for the second time.
Following his fantastic achievement, Talbot said, “I’ve been overwhelmed by the support and many inspiring messages I’ve received. This has encouraged me to continue to challenge myself. I would like to thank each and every person for their generous donations. It’s heartening to know how many people cherish this cause as much as I do.”
“I hope that this has raised awareness for prostate cancer and that the funds will go some way to reducing the impact of the condition on Australian men and their families as we look towards a cure in the future.”
Michael Callaghan, Head of Distribution, Australia at SureSave said, “We are so proud of Talbot who has inspired us all with his astonishing effort. His achievement is amazing and all for such a worthy cause.”
Talbot completed the swim with Davide Bini. They travelled to Europe to embark on this adventure independently of SureSave Pty Ltd.
