Amankila in eastern Bali has announced an exclusive three day residence with renowned Australian-Chinese Chef Victor Liong from 5 – 7 July 2019.

The pop up, in collaboration with Hennessy, will comprise three evening events – a “Four Hands” family-style dinner with Amankila Executive Chef and fellow Australian Shane Lewis followed by a cognac tasting afterwards; a 4-course degustation dinner with cognac pairing; and cognac reception followed by a 3-course Table d’Hôte poolside under the stars with wine pairing.

With a career cooking in kitchens of some of the country’s most innovative and well-respected restaurants, Victor Liong has made waves in the culinary scene with his first restaurant Lee Hoo Fook opening in Australia’s culinary capital, Melbourne in 2013.

Offering elegant, balanced Chinese dishes in in the heart of the city’s laneways, Victor Liong’s Chinese menu heroes the authenticity of Chinese flavours embracing lightness and modernity.

Lee Hoo Fook is frequently recognized, receiving awards and including theA ustralian Gourmet Traveller Awards, Australian Financial Review’s Hottest 100 Restaurants, Gault Millau Guide and The Australian’s Hot 50, and the Age Good Food Guide.

With a sacred Mount Agung as its backdrop and unimpeded views of the Lombok Strait, Amankila enjoys a breathtaking hilltop spot in the historic Karangasem Regency, on Bali’s east coast.

References to Balinese culture abound – in the motifs inspired by the water palace at nearby Ujung; in the paras stone decorating the stilted and thatched suites; and in the spectacular infinity pool that cascades in three tiers down the hillside, reminiscent of a rice paddy.
