Australian Visitor Arrivals To Taiwan Increase By 27% – Taipei Ranked 15th Best Travel Destination

Australian visitor arrivals to Taiwan have increased by 27% on the previous year. In the space of five months, from January to May 2014, 33,914 Australians visited Taiwan.

However it’s not only Australians discovering the wonders of Taiwan. A 2014 survey revealed that Taipei is now ranked 15th in the world’s top travel destinations according to visitor numbers.

Taipei is a thriving city and welcomed 6.3 million visitors in 2014, earning US$10.8 billion in visitor spending. The company conducting the survey commended the city, stating, “Taipei’s great potential in global tourism is also worthy of note … the city’s growth rate of international visitor arrivals between 2010 and 2014 has reached 16 percent, topping all cities in the Asia-Pacific region.”
