Auto Europe Shares Europe’s Fastest Growing Tourism Locations

There are a plethora of locations to visit while on holiday, according to car hire company Auto Europe. People often find themselves in a quandary when trying to decide on the right spot to visit.

The world is full of beautiful locations where tourists can relax and enjoy the marvel of nature. In recent years, some places in Europe have seen an exponential increase in the amount of visitors that they have attracted.

Auto Europe reflects on an article in The Malay Mail, which states that Iceland and Slovakia are becoming the fastest growing tourist attractions in Europe. In the second quarter of 2013, the European Travel Commission saw a 30 per cent jump in foreign visitors to Iceland. Meanwhile, Slovakia saw a respectable 20 per cent spike this past spring.

Other smaller European regions have also seen a growth in tourist arrivals. Auto Europe notes a nine per cent growth in Latvia, Croatia, and Montenegro. Hungary and Poland saw a seven per cent increase during this year. Germany and Spain overall recorded a four per cent tourism increase, which experts consider is “healthy.”

Some publications have shown their recognition of these growing tourism locations. Lonely Planet named Northern Iceland as the top European holiday location due to its many attractions. Tourists can behold the beautiful landscape and indulge in various nature activities. Some of Iceland’s most attractive features include lava fields, beautiful waterfalls, and awesome geysers. Lonely Planet named Hungary and Croatia as two of the top 10 European hotspots as well.

Some areas, however, have not seen the same fortune. The nation of Cyprus has recently suffered economic troubles. The banking crisis has made the country become a sort of barrier to tourism. Records report how Cyprus saw a 12 per cent drop in their tourism industry. Hopefully, things will turn out for the better and the nation can thrive again soon.

An Auto Europe representative stated, “It’s good to see that places like Iceland and Slovakia are receiving their due recognition. When people go on holiday, they like to choose somewhere exotic and popular. You see people wanting to ski in the Alps or backpack across France. But there is beautiful scenery that is not receiving the proper attention. Iceland is gorgeous year round, filled with a rich environment that makes for a pleasurable experience. Holidaymakers should deviate from their normal routine and visit these other locations. They will not regret it and will most likely want to return next holiday.”

Auto Europe encourages people to consult with a travel agent to find the best way to travel on holiday.
