The Globus family of brands has appointed a dedicated Business Development Manager for Avalon Waterways, providing specialised support for the travel trade amid continuing growth in river cruising.
Walter Nand has been appointed to the new role, taking responsibility for Avalon’s business development strategies in NSW.

Previously a Business Development Manager with MSC Cruises, Walter has more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry in Europe, Canada and Australia, including roles in product development, hotel contracting, business development, business counseling and training and a variety of sales roles.
His past roles include State Manager NSW/ACT for APT and NSW Business Development Manager for Excite Holidays. He also holds a Master Cruise Accreditation with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
Globus family of brands Managing Director Australasia Stewart Williams said Walter would provide an additional emphasis on Avalon Waterways while offering specialised support for the travel trade.
“Walter has invaluable experience in the travel industry and a particular expertise in cruising, which will be of great value as we grow Avalon Waterways in the Australian market,” Mr Williams said. “Having a dedicated Business Development Manager for Avalon will allow us to put an even greater focus on river cruising while at the same time enhancing the service provided by our wider Globus sales team.”
Walter will be based in the Globus family of brands head office in Sydney.
