Leading car rental company, Avis Australia, has today announced the 2019 finalists for its renowned Avis Travel Agent Scholarship programme.

The judging panel, made up of travel industry leaders, has identified the top five applicants from across Australia and New Zealand. The selected entries showed a consistently high standard of customer service and demonstrated innovation in the workplace while keeping sustainability front of mind.

The 2019 Avis Scholarship finalists are:

  • Natalie Morgan, Phil Hoffman Travel – SA, Australia
  • Jen Lloyd, Savenio – QLD, Australia
  • Ben Ogden, CWT – NSW, Australia
  • Melanie White, Travel Managers – TAS, Australia
  • Charlotte Chalman, House of Travel – New Zealand

Established in 1996, the Avis Travel Agent Scholarship aims to encourage, recognise and reward outstanding customer service. Now in its 23rd year, the programme has evolved into one of the most valuable and prestigious awards offered to Australian and New Zealand travel professionals.

The winner of the sought-after scholarship receives prizes valued at $35,000, with one of the highlights being 2x Qantas business class travel tickets to an industry conference of the winner’s choice within the Asia-Pacific region. They will also receive professional coaching and profiling for one year from Right Path, industry training opportunities and Cruise 365 Conference tickets, courtesy of Cruise Lines International Association Australasia (CLIAA).

Finalists will travel to Sydney to present to the judging panel before the winner is announced at the Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday 13th November
