Fiji’s popular Off Road Caves Safari has been awarded its second consecutive TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
This prestigious award recognizes businesses worldwide that consistently earn a top rating of four or higher, out of a possible five from TripAdvisor travelers. Only the top-performing 10 per cent of businesses listed on TripAdvisor receive this award.
According to Jay Whyte, founder and owner of Off Road Caves Safari “It is such an honour to win this award. We were so excited to win the award last year for the first time, but to win again in 2015 is such an amazing achievement. It’s a real reflection on the fantastic team that works so hard to make this tour a success. “
“We are so glad our passengers are enjoying seeing and learning about these unique caves and that they are letting others know about it too. “Continues Mr Whyte.
The Off Road Caves Safari first started in 2012 and came about as a natural transition that complements sister tour, Sigatoka River Safari.
Off Road Caves Safari is Fiji’s original and only off road safari and takes passengers, in custom made land rovers, through Sigatoka’s interior to the Naihehe Cave, Fiji’s largest Cave system, where they learn about its fascinating cannibalism history.
The tour gives passengers a first-hand experience of the caves – from entering via the ‘pregnancy gap’ to entry into the main chamber, too seeing a cannibal oven, ritual platform, a sacred priest chamber and other reminders of its cannibal history that remain in the cave today.
After exploring the caves, a bbq lunch and swim in the refreshing river with the locals is enjoyed before heading back to the Land Rovers and beginning the homeward journey. This too is a memorable experience as guides stop along the way allowing all guests the opportunity to shake hands with and meet the locals.
In another major achievement for the company Sigatoka River Safari was welcomed into TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame. A unique accolade only granted to businesses that have won the Certificate of Excellence for five years in a row.
