This distinction designates AYANA as an outstanding hotel, selected from over 4,000 entries by Fodor’s judging panel of 500 editors and travel experts. AYANA is also the only hotel/resort in Indonesia to receive this highly esteemed recognition.

The news comes as AYANA opens sister hotel, RIMBA Jimbaran Bali, a 282-room hotel located within AYANA’s 77-hectare grounds overlooking Jimbaran Bay, just 12 kilometers from Bali’s airport.

Fodor’s Travel, the world’s leading name in travel guides for 77 years, covers over 7,500 destinations and more than 17,000 of the best hotels around the globe. Each year, Fodor’s invites their roster of 500 contributors around the world to nominate the best hotels in their destinations. Fodor’s senior editorial team deliberates on over 4,000 Fodor’s Choice picks and new property reviews, poring over the list for months and narrowing their top selections in eight categories that represent the year’s global hospitality trends. This year’s categories included Top Exotic Hideaways, Home Suite Homes, Culinary Gems, Sleek City Addresses and more. Fodor’s said that the 13 resorts listed in the Top Exotic Hideaways were defined as destination hotels for the ‘trip of a lifetime’.

“At Fodor’s, hotels are more than our lifeblood – they’re our passion. With every stay, we obsess over design choices, service, and amenities,” explained Arabella Bowen, Fodor’s Travel executive editorial director. “To compile the Fodor’s 100 list, we look for properties within emerging destinations, trends our editors have been seeing throughout the year, new and noteworthy hotels and enduring favorites to create a list that will inspire all types of travel and traveler.”

A complete list of all 100 selected hotels is online at http://www.fodors.com/hotel-awards/2013/. AYANA Resort Manager Clive Edwards thanked travellers for their continuing support since the resort rebranded in April 2009, when it was brought under the management of Capella Hotel Group led by Horst Schulze.

“This award reaffirms the vision and excellence of our team, but most of all it reflects our guests’ recognition of the passion, care and dedication of our 900+ staff,” said Clive. “While AYANA’s facilities and amenities are world-class, it is really our staff who have won this award. The awards are a by-product of their natural care and dedication to provide a memorable stay for every guest, and so I congratulate all of our staff for this well-deserved recognition; they are truly the world’s best.”
