Azamara Reveals 2018 Azamazing Evenings Down Under

Azamara Club Cruises has revealed details of new Azamazing Evening events for the boutique-cruise line’s return to Australia in 2018. http://www.lagunaphuket.com/events/event.php?event=3

New events “A Taste of Western Australia” in Perth and An Evening Symphony at St Paul’s Cathedral” in Wellington feature on select Azamara Journey local sailings in 2018, when the 690-guest ship returns for the line’s third season based down under; beginning with a maiden voyage down the west coast of Australia, marking inaugural calls to Exmouth, Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Esperance, Kangaroo Island and Adelaide. 

In Adelaide, a brand new Evening of Fine Wine and Entertainment at the National Wine Centre” will feature on Azamara Quest’s first Australian itinerary for the summer cruise season of 2018/19; marking the first time both ships will visit within a single year, and Azamara’s fourth season sailing local waters. 

And back by popular demand, Azamara guests will enjoy the Tasmania Symphony Orchestra event in Hobart in February 2018 – which proved a huge hit with Quest’s guests during her maiden voyage to the region in 2016.

2018 Australia and New Zealand Azamara Events:

A Taste of Western Australia – Perth, 26 January 2018

Showcasing everything from local produce and wine to aboriginal music performances and dance collaborations, this immersive event presents the best Western Australia has to offer. As soon as they walk in the ambient private venue, guests will be greeted with platters of farm-fresh WA produce, as well as wine tasting stations highlighting wines from renowned Margaret River wineries. From there, they’ll be treated to the mesmerising sounds of celebrated local performers, including Mark Atkins, one of Australia’s finest didgeridoo players, and Steve Pigram, a member of the highly influential indigenous Australian band from the 90’s – The Pigram Brothers. The evening culminates in an immersive journey back to the ship, with more local performers entertaining guests on the way.

Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in Hobart – 10 February 2018:
The evening begins with a warm welcome by the Tasmanian Police Pipe Band which has been performing together in Australia and around the world since 1969. After a rousing tattoo, guests will be entranced by the enchanting sounds of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Established in 1948 and a Tasmanian icon, the orchestra sets the tone for Tasmanian culture on a global scale. Afterwards, guests also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with orchestra members and the conductor before returning to the comforts of their ship docked in port for the  evening.

An Evening Symphony at St Paul’s Cathedral – Wellington, 26 February 2018

Guests will travel into the heart of Wellington to visit its strikingly modern cathedral, completed in 1998, and be welcomed with cocktails and canapes, including mini pavlovas, Kikorangi Blue Cheese on gingerbread biscotti, and tri-coloured chocolate truffles. After meeting the Orchestra Wellington Musical Director, Marc Taddei, they’ll sit down and enjoy performances by Orchestra Wellington, such as Tchaikovsky’s ‘Nutcracker Suite’ and Grieg’s ‘Hall of the Mountain King’. They’ll also hear iconic New Zealand songs such as ‘Pokarekare Ana’ and ‘Poi E’. and arias by Verdi     and        Puccini.

An Evening of Fine Wine and Entertainment – Adelaide, 27 December 2018

Upon arrival guests will be greeted with wine tasting stations showcasing prestigious South Australian wine, selected exclusively for the event by the National Wine Centre – to ensure vintages perfectly matched with the atmosphere and delicious canapes. Guests then take their seats to experience the exquisite vocals of one of Australia’s iconic music industry artists – Christine Anu. Christine’s powerful voice has earned her 17 Aria award nominations, and a place performing at the 2000 Sydney Olympics closing ceremony.
