The Azores are an easy flight from New England this summer with 12 weekly flights from Boston’s Logan Airport and Providence’s Green Airport. Azores Airlines is offering multiple non-stops to the Azores, and beyond to other great destinations with one-stop service to Lisbon, Madeira, Porto, the Canaries and Cape Verde.

“We have still have some seats available for summer– and we have great deals for late summer August and September,” says Azores Airlines Commercial Director Gavin Eccles. “If you have not yet booked, contact us or your travel agent. If you have not discovered the Azores, you don’t know what you are missing…. “

This summer, Azores Airlines has nine scheduled flights from Boston to São Miguel in the Azores, and two to Terceira Island. Providence will have a weekly light to São Miguel.

Azores Airlines will offer service on their spacious A330 aircraft and on its new fleet of A321NEO aircraft. The A330 twin-aisle wide body offers quality comfort and its cabin is one of the quietest in the skies. The A321NEO carries up to 186 passengers. With the widest single-aisle cabin on the market, every flight will offer modern comfort in every class.

About midway between Boston and mainland Portugal – the Azores are a collection of nine islands scattered over several hundred nautical miles. The closest point to Europe from the United States, the Azores are an autonomous region of Portugal, and just four hours by plane from New England.

São Miguel is the largest, greenest island with the most crater lakes, the biggest city, and the unique Furnas Valley, known for its geysers, golf, breads, and gardens. Visit the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, the most famous set of crater lakes. Lagoa das Furnas, a volcanic lake, is a popular place for hiking trails or canoeing.

Terceira’s capital is Angra do Heroísmo and its historic center is a World Heritage Site because to its important architecture and culture.

Azores Airlines, part of the SATA Group, has connected New England with the Azores and mainland Portugal for more than 35 years and now is also connecting the Bay Area. For more information about booking flights visit http://www.azoresairlines.pt or call 800-762-9995.
