Back-Roads Touring continues expansion with appointment of new brand manager

Back-Roads Touring is continuing its expansion with the appointment of a Brand Manager in Australia and New Zealand.

Experienced industry professional Hugh Houston has taken up the newly created position amid record growth for the small group touring brand.

Hugh Houston‘We have seen growth of over 70 per cent in the last 12 months which has led to the expansion of the Back-Roads Australasia team,” Back-Roads Australia/New Zealand General Manager Sarah Clark said.

“We are thrilled to have Hugh as part of the Back-Roads team. As a respected member of the travel industry and with a strong sales and marketing background, Hugh is the perfect fit for the newly created role of Brand Manager, overseeing activity within the Australia and New Zealand region.”

Mr Houston is well known within the travel industry and brings over 20 years’ of experience to Back-Roads. His most recent role was General Manager Sales and Marketing for Sunlover Holidays.

“Today’s traveller is looking for personalised, local experiences mixed with culinary delights and unique accommodation and Back-Roads is one of the only brands to do this in a true ‘small group’ environment of 16 to 18 people,” Mr Houston said.

“I am excited to represent this fantastic product and look forward to working with the industry to showcase and promote this business across Australia and New Zealand.”

Back-Roads Touring offers over 30 tours in its UK & Europe Summer 2014 brochure, and 12 tours in its newly released UK & Europe Winter 2014/2015 brochure.

“Despite changes in market currencies, Back-Roads is guaranteeing all pricing for Summer 2014 and Winter 14/15 touring programs, continuing to offer clients a fantastic value-for-money experience,” Ms Clark said.
