Brisbane’s independently owned Emporium Hotel has taken the top title for luxury accommodation at the Australian Tourism Awards for the second year in a row.

A jewel in Queensland’s and Australia’s tourism crown, the hotel is consistently being recognised nationally and internationally as the best of the best. Being honoured with the Best Luxury Accommodation title for the second consecutive year is an extraordinary achievement, testament to its ownership, team and experience offerings.

The Hotel was up against the country’s finest establishments including; the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf, Saffire-Freycinct in Tasmania, The Sebel Playford Adelaide, Sails in the Desert in the NT, Chateau Elan at The Vintage in NSW, the Crown Metropol in Perth and the Hyatt Hotel Canberra.

Emporium Hotel General Manager Peter Savoff said the award is tribute to our team and service standards. The Hotel opened its doors in June 2007, as a luxury boutique hotel, focused on delivering new levels of hospitality in an environment not seen before. We continue to drive new thinking, contribute to our industry and benchmark what is possible when a team of passionate professionals focus on pushing traditional hospitality boundaries,” he said.

Emporium Hotel owner Anthony John said the award was absolutely magnificent; it’s the beginning of a successful and stunning year ahead for the property and Queensland. “I pay tribute to General Manager Mr. Peter Savoff and his incredible team who each and every day deliver the Emporium service promise to guests; what a team.”

“With the G20 and Commonwealth Games approaching as leading global events, Brisbane is entering its phase as a New World City and we are proud to know that Emporium Hotel stands tall against any luxury operator in the world.”

Recently the hotel was also awarded the title of Australia’s Leading Hotel Residences at the 2013 World Travel Awards held in Dubai, named Best Boutique Hotel at the prestigious HM Awards and achieved Silver Certification with EarthCheck for sustainable work practices.

The prestigious award comes on the back of owner Anthony John announcing that a second luxury Emporium Hotel will feature in the $650 million Southpoint development at South Bank, which will also include high-end 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments and offices. Construction is set to begin on Southpoint in mid-2014 with completion expected in 2016. Like Emporium Hotel, Southpoint will introduce exciting new levels of design, service and luxury to Australia.
