Backyard Travel, the online boutique tour operator specializing in insider tours throughout Asia, today announced two new family tours packed with action and adventure. With one new trip through Japan and one through Cambodia, families now have more opportunities to explore these two very different destinations through eye-opening activities that engage travelers of all ages.

The Japan Family Holiday: A World Of Ninjas, Manga and Fun takes travelers on a 12-day, 11-night journey through the Land of the Rising Sun. Cities include Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto, with free time for families to tailor their itineraries to their own preferences. Activities on offer are designed to be as fun for parents as they are for children with options such as samurai sword fighting, manga drawing, karate and kayaking, plus origami, calligraphy and drumming classes. This tour is priced from JPY 1,103,195 per family and includes accommodation, some meals and English-speaking guides.

Combining temple visits with river explorations, city tours and ‘deserted’ island hopping, the new thrilling and active Cambodia Family Adventure offers a different discovery at every turn. There’s plenty of action on this 12-day, 11-night trip, with options for ziplining, horse riding, ox carting and cycling, plus a visit to a sun bear sanctuary, a trip to the ‘Tomb Raider’ temples of the Angkor Complex and snorkeling and surfing  in idyllic Sihanoukville. Priced from US $5,108 per family, this trip includes a bit of everything, keeping children and parents rapt from start to finish.
