Backyard TravelAsia’s most innovative travel company, has today released details of a new tailor-made tour entitled: ‘My Great Cambodian Romance’. The new tour takes travelers on a romantic exploration of Siem Reap’s legendary sites, Ta Phrom Temple, the majestic Angkor Wat and Bayon Temple, before moving to Tonlé Sap Lake, Phnom Penh and finally the idyllic beachside resort of Kep.
The ten-day, nine-night tour, which is ideal for honeymooning couples, begins in Siem Reap, the perfect gateway from which to discover Angkor’s ancient temples, also said to be the place that symbolizes the soul of the Khmer people.

Travelers can enjoy a unique romantic perspective with a birds-eye view of Angkor Wat by means of a helium-filled balloon as well as taking a guided tour of the temple grounds on foot before enjoying a scenic sunset over the majestic complex.

The unique Cambodia tour also visits the city of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, a city protected by an eight-meter-high wall which creates a perfectly square barrier around the ancient city. After exploring the city on foot, travelers can investigate Bayon Temple where they will discover the intricate stone carvings at Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

After an insightful investigation into Siem Reap’s most alluring temples, the enthralling tour then moves to Tonlé Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake, where they can experience a boat tour to Kampong Phluk, a floating village built on stilts. Next the tour moves on to Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh to discover cultural sites of enormous importance such as the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Wat Phnom.

The ‘My Great Cambodian Romance’ tour then allows travelers the chance to explore Cambodia’s countryside and community, allowing a total immersion in the jungle around the Cardamom Mountains with a stay at the 4 Villas Floating Lodge. After two days in secluded paradise the scenic tour then moves on to Kep, an idyllic seaside resort set in the Kep National Park.

“We know from experience how easy it is to fall in love with all the countries of Asia,” said Backyard Travel’s General Manager Maeve Nolan. “We think this tour is perfect for anyone looking to discover the irrepressible charms and allure of Cambodia – a love-worthy nation if ever there was one.”
