Backyard Travel, Asia’s most innovative tour company, has today released news of a new discount on one of their tailor-made trips to Thailand, taking travelers on a gastronomic adventure packed with insider experiences.

The tour can temporarily be taken for less with a 10% discount from now until the end of September 2013.

The fully customizable ten-day, nine-night tour begins in Bangkok with a five-star evening at one of Southeast Asia’s most renowned dining destinations – Vertigo at the Banyan Tree Hotel. With standards set high, the tour continues to exceed expectations with further investigations of the fascinating food culture of the vibrant city.EGT_Artical Banner A 250x250

As well as exploring the sensational cuisine available, the bespoke tour takes travelers to some of the best-known and also lesser-seen attractions of Bangkok, allowing a cultured study of Thailand’s ancient history and modern society.

While based in Bangkok, the gastronomic journey into Thai cuisine takes travelers to Koh Kred for a cooking class at Amita Thai cooking school. From there, travelers move on to Tha Kha and Aphawa floating markets to see the unique spectacle of boating vendors selling their wares.

The tasty tour of Thailand then moves to Chiang Mai, nicknamed the ‘Rose of the North’. Whilst traveling around the north of Thailand, the tour will allow the opportunity to sample some more regional cuisine, such as Khao Soy noodles and also the chance to enjoy a cup of freshly made local Arabica coffee from the Chiang Khien Coffee Research Project.

As well as sampling the sensational local cuisine, travelers will also be treated to some insider-experiences of Thailand, including a private blessing ceremony at Wat Prathat Doi Suthep and the chance to visit many of the local hill tribe villages of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

This Thailand tour is now available with a discount of 10% when taken before 30 September 2013.

“Thailand is home to one of the world’s most popular and delicious cuisines,” said Backyard Travel’s General Manager Maeve Nolan. “Sampling authentic regional cuisine is an absolute must for many while on holiday and we’re certain this tour will delight traveling gastronomes and intrepid foodies alike, as well as enchanting them with various insider-experiences and cultural explorations.”
