Bali remains the hottest overseas destination for West Australian Leavers with many locking in their after-school holiday more than 18 months in advance, according to specialist youth travel website schoolies.com.
CEO for schoolies.com Matt Lloyd said exciting new product, great value and the security of special schoolies-only accommodation and events had made the island paradise a popular choice.
Last year approximately 6000 Leavers, aka Schoolies, spread their wings to Bali, with the number expected to rise in 2016 and 2017 according to schoolies.com, which offers tailored Leavers packages for WA customers.
Mr Lloyd said that although the Gold Coast was traditionally the most popular destination, Bali was a fast-developing niche market for students looking for a unique end-of-year adventure.
He said WA students made up the bulk of the Bali market, because of the State’s long held love affair with the holiday island, affordability and ease of travel.
“2016 is ahead of where we were this time last year and we just launched 2017 to a strong response from WA Leavers who are growing more aware of the need to get in early to secure the best rooms, even a year-and-a-half in advance.
“The destination continues to grow in popularity because of its wow factor coupled with value for money, unique schoolies.com safety measures and great accommodation,’’ he said.
“Bali is an exotic destination which provides not only a unique cultural experience, but a chance to exercise freedom in a regulated, safe environment.
“Our all-inclusive Bali Leavers packages always perform very strongly because they offer a safe and exciting Bali setting to celebrate, with everything a Schoolie could possibly want in the price,’’ he said.
Schoolies.com has 2016 and 2017 Bali Leavers packages from just $299* per person including seven nights’ accommodation at the Bounty Hotel, transfers, breakfast, resort pool parties, trained schoolies.com crew on location, 24 hour emergency Australian contact for all Schoolies and parents and more. Packages including flights start from $876* per person.
