As the first international operator to launch a world-class resort in Yangshuo, Banyan Tree unveils southeast China and its stunning panorama of jade-green mountains and rivers to discerning guests.

Opening on 1st September 2014, Banyan Tree Yangshuo is found in the ancient township of Fuli, the home of the traditional Chinese painted fan, on the Li River. Located within the county of Yangshuo, the surrounding, visually-stunning Karst Mountains are complemented by the grace of the Li River.  Banyan Tree Yangshuo has been designed as a village resort far from the hustle and bustle of the city, providing best-in-class facilities and breathtaking views of this impressive scenery across its 142 suites and villas.

A Tranquil Paradise

Each of the resort’s elegant suites and villas reflect local architecture and design.  The resort forms a courtyard where one and two storey buildings have been designed in traditional village style incorporating gray tiles, sloping roofs, white-washed walls, latticed wood windows, hanging balconies and bluestone wainscot.  Landscaped gardens and waterways mirror the surrounding topography whilst the interiors combine contemporary with traditional design, using dark wood, bamboo and marble mosaics, alongside Chinese art, craft and furniture.

The Gardenview Suite offers a stunning view of Yangshuo’s famed Karst Mountains.  The Mountainview Suite/ Riverview Suite features lavish interiors, which open up to a generous balcony with views over lush limestone peaks and the serene waters of the Li River nearby.  The One-Bedroom Garden Villa is specially designed for couples: an ambience of romance resonates throughout this intimate sanctuary; with a spacious living room, elegant bedroom, sundeck and soaring bamboo garden.  Set by the Li River, the One-Bedroom Riverside Villa is a harmonious haven where guests can reconnect with nature. The larger Two-Bedroom Riverside Villa is designed for friends and families.

Dining Facilities at Banyan Tree Yangshuo

The resort’s four restaurants and bars lead guests through an extraordinary journey of culinary discovery. Ming Yue is the resort’s all-day dining restaurant featuring wholesome breakfast buffets, international delights and local favorites.  Bai Yun is a fine-dining establishment featuring a menu of exquisite Guangxi and Canton specialties, where guests can choose to be seated in the main dining room or in any of the six opulent private dining suites. The Pool Bar is a place for guests to enjoy a refreshing cocktail and some light bites after a relaxing swim; as well as seafood BBQs on weekends.  The Lobby Lounge offers aromatic coffees, fragrant teas, vintage wines and delightful cocktails.  Destination Dining is one of the Banyan Tree’s signature experiences and at Banyan Tree Yangshuo guests can choose to have an intimate, romantic dinner over-looking the Li River.

A World-Class Resort on the Banks of the Li River

Banyan Tree Yangshuo boasts a range of facilities and programs for guests to escape the bustle of the city and reconnect with nature.

Delivering rejuvenation and vitality with every spa treatment, a visit to the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa is a must.  As a pioneer of oriental spas in Asia, Banyan Tree Spa has developed an exotic blend of ancient health and beauty practices passed down through the generations.  Spanning approximately 1,000 square metres, Banyan Tree Spa Yangshuo features two Royal Treatment Rooms with Rainmist facilities, three Deluxe Double Treatment Rooms and four Standard Double Treatment Rooms.  Other facilities include a Beauty Salon, Yoga Room, Spa Café and Banyan Tree Gallery.

Using local ingredients such as Luohanguo, Banyan Tree Spa Yangshuo’s signature treatment is the destination-inspired Banyan Refresh package, created to rejuvenate mind, body and spirit.  The 150-minute treatment calms the senses with a Steam Bath and cleanses the skin with a refreshing Luohanguo Chrysanthemum Body Scrub.  Adapted from the traditional Chinese massage, the Oriental Massage performed without the use of oil improves the flow of “qi” and releases toxins from the body. A Banyan Tree Foot Massage relaxes the tired soles while the therapeutic Luohanguo Chrysanthemum Bath completes this indulgent experience.

Banyan Tree Gallery presents an array of locally-inspired gift ideas, such as the exclusive Harmony of Yangshuo Collection with its array of lifestyle merchandise and home accessories including elegant cork coaster sets and silk shawl jackets, whilst the collection of Banyan Tree Spa products available are inspired by the delicate chrysanthemum flower.

The resort also features a swimming pool on the bank of the Li River, whilst a playroom provides guests with various board games such as chess, checkers and backgammon.

As for banquet facilities, the resort’s 210 sqm ballroom can be configured for up to 200 guests, perfect for grand celebrations and special events.  Four smaller meeting rooms ranging from 28sqm to 50sqm, are suitable for corporate functions and meetings.

Banyan Tree Yangshuo offers numerous activities for guests to experience the region’s unique history and culture.  The Li River provides an ink-wash painting of mountain views and riverscapes like no other in the world.  The waterways around Fuli Town provide canoeing and rafting opportunities, or guests can trek through the Karst Mountains meeting locals along the way.  Specially-designed tours like the Village Discovery, Yangshuo Adventure Experience and Yangshuo Countryside Experience allow guests to explore scenic spots in Fuli town including the Mazu Temple, Karst Cave, Dutou Village and the Three-Color Pond, each telling its own historical or cultural story.  Fuli Town is also known as “China’s Home of Fan Painting”, guests can participate in Contemporary Chinese Art Painting Classes to create their own exclusive fans to take home.
