BCD Travel Signs Long-Term Agreement To Provide TRIPBAM’s Hotel Rate Shopping Service To Corporate Clients
TRIPBAM™ today announced a long-term agreement with BCD Travel to provide the travel management company’s clients with products for improving corporate hotel programs. After a successful test phase, BCD Travel will make TRIPBAM available to clients in order to drive incremental savings, improve traveler confidence in the rates they access through their company’s hotel program and increase the number of hotels booked through managed channels.
With the annual hotel rate negotiation season underway, and with hotels recording rate and revenue increases in each of the top 25 U.S. markets (as per STR research), corporate travel managers are increasingly open to using innovative technologies to increase hotel attachment and ensure travelers book negotiated rates. TRIPBAM’s unique feature set – built to handle the complexity of managed travel hotel programs – offers corporations new tools that not only lower hotel costs but spur increased usage of preferred properties and chains.
BCD Travel plans to apply TRIPBAM’s patent-pending “cluster” shopping processes to seek preferred, in-program hotel alternatives when non-preferred hotels are booked by the traveler. BCD Travel is a leading global travel management company, recording more than $24 billion in sales in 2014. The global TMC will highlight its full range of offerings at theAssociation of Global Business Travel Executives Global Conference in Paris on October 14-16.
“Hotel rates change constantly; it only makes sense that we secure lower rates for our travelers whenever they become available,” said April Bridgeman, senior vice president of strategic marketing at BCD Travel. “However, TRIPBAM’s offering does much more – by steering travelers toward preferred properties and chains and even toward lower-cost comparable properties, it can unlock meaningful savings opportunities.”
“We’re excited about the opportunity to help drive better hotel program performance for BCD Travel and its corporate clients,” said TRIPBAM founder and CEO Steve Reynolds. “BCD Travel remains a leader at implementing new technologies to enhance all components of the managed travel process. We look forward to working with BCD to move the needle on use of corporate hotel programs.”
