Beautyworld Japan, the largest trade fair for the beauty and spa industries in Japan, begins its three-day run today at Tokyo Big Sight East Halls 3, 4, 5 and 6. The 19th edition welcomes 530 exhibitors (Japan: 452, Overseas: 78) from 14 countries and regions (2015: 538 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions) including Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Latvia and pavilions from China, Korea and Taiwan. It showcases a variety of products, services, techniques and information related to the fields of cosmetics, aesthetics, nail and beauty equipment for salons as well as healing, diet, health and medical care. The show is billed as the must-attend platform in the beauty industry in Japan and Asia again this year.
The venue is divided into two major areas by distribution routes; ‘Salon business area’ and ‘Retail business area’, and each area is zoned by product category. Eight zones including ‘Cosmetics’, ‘Beauty equipment’, ‘Hair’, ‘Eyelash’, ‘Spa & wellness’, ‘Diet & health’, ‘Business support’ and ‘OEM & packaging’ belong to the ‘Salon business area’ for buyers from aesthetic salons, hairdressing salons, hotels & spas and leisure facilities, while the ‘Retail business area’ has three zones namely ‘Cosmetics & beauty equipment’, ‘Natural & organic’ and ‘Beauty supplements’. This area aims to gather buyers from retail distributors, such as department stores, cosmetic shops, drug stores and mail order houses. This zoning enables visitors to find their target exhibitors and products easily.
Popular “Main stage seminar” moves to reception hall
A special highlight among all the concurrent events that draws much interest from the industry is the ‘Main stage seminar’. This edition features a new line-up of practical topics for salon owners, beauticians, aestheticians and buyers from retail businesses, all conducted by leading speakers. The location moves from inside the exhibition hall to a separate reception hall in order to secure an improved environment for both lecturers and attendees. In addition to the extensive programme, a premium seminar for aesthetic salon owners makes its debut this year. One of the top aestheticians in Japan and the most popular ‘Main stage seminar’ lecturer, Ms. Hidemi Morimasa, will give three sessions on the second day for a limited amount of attendees. There are also other informative events such as exhibitor presentations, business seminars and association seminars on various themes.
“Tokyo Nail Forum” is held concurrently in Hall 3, with 72 exhibitors presenting their latest products. The next nail trends are showcased at the Tokyo Nail Collection 2016 designed by top nailists on the ‘Nail stage’, and top-class nail art techniques are also demonstrated under the themes of ‘Sporty’, ‘Kawaii’, ‘Emotional’ and ‘Conservative’. Exhibitor presentations will take place in the presentation room throughout the three days.
