Berjaya Hotels and Resorts Give Back in a Big Way Striking a balance between profitability and social responsibility
Berjaya Hotels and Resorts have a strong belief in social responsibility. They believe that their Corporate Social Responsibility culture should be ingrained within the company and trickle down from the top of the ladder to the very fabric of the organisation.

The company’s CSR program runs at least one major event a month, helping many sectors of the communities surrounding their properties. These range from disadvantaged children, the homeless, local hospitals and the surrounding environment.
Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur recently joined hands with a local charity Kechara Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless. Twenty-one staff from various departments within the hotel transported food made at the hotel to the soup kitchen and served 250 people in the busy lunchtime rush.
In Manila, the Berjaya Makati Hotel partnered with the He Cares Foundation a charity that helps extremely poor street children in Metro Manila. Hotel staff spent the day at the children’s welfare centre where they provided the children with a hearty lunch and interacted with the kids in the form of games and activities giving out prizes to all the children.
Helping the environment is also a big part of the CSR program. Berjaya Langkawi Resort recently launched the Mangrove 4 Life program which saw almost 500 mangrove saplings around the resort and raised awareness of the importance of mangroves to the resort’s surrounding eco system.
