Berry Bros. & Rudd Launches New Wine Book – Exploring & Tasting Wine

Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Wine School has entertained, educated and enthralled thousands of people over the last 15 years; now the launch of Exploring & Tasting Wine: A wine course with digressions brings the company’s famous Introduction to Wine course to wine-lovers, making this book the perfect gift for wine beginners across Hong Kong.This 240-page book, with foreword by award-winning actress Emma Thompson and stunning photography by Jason Lowe, takes the reader on a journey. Starting with how to taste wine, it gradually introduces the key grape varieties and wine regions, with optional digressions along the way, leading the reader further into the world of wine today.

Head of Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Wine School, Rebecca Lamont, explains that there is something for everyone in this book. “To enjoy it, you need only one qualification: you appreciate wine. Whether you have just discovered this (the course assumes no prior knowledge) or whether you have simply never had time to pull together your knowledge, we can prove to you that anyone can be a good taster,” she says.

Although the backbone of the book is a tasting course, with the core sections clearly labeled as ‘practical’, it includes sections on the ‘background’ of each grape variety, for example where it is commonly grown. Designed by Lizzie Ballantyne after taking the course, innovative ‘targets’ provide a visual representation of the different elements at play in wine.
