Berry Bros. & Rudd Partners with The Institute of Masters of Wine for a Second Year

Berry Bros. & Rudd Hong Kong is continuing its collaboration as official Principal Supporter of The Institute of Masters of Wine, which will see the wine merchant holding a Hong Kong based Master Class once more. Berry Bros. & Rudd has long been linked with the Institute and collectively, they are working to elevate the profile of Masters of Wine in Asia, encouraging new aspirants to join the programme.

This year, Hong Kong will host yet another informative MW master class, taking place on 18-20 April 2016.  The two and a half-day schedule is comprised of teaching sessions from two distinguished Masters of Wine; Martin Hudson MW, one of only 16, out of 343, to simultaneously pass both the theory and practical,  while Anne McHale MW, graduated winning the Madame Bollinger Prize for best tasting paper.

The guest speakers will introduce the Institute’s study programme and examination syllabus through showcasing the MW approach to wine tasting and theory topics to participants. The master class will include several tastings of a variety of wines from different regions of the world that will be conducted in a similar format to the Master of Wine exams. Evening dinners are included as part of the itinerary, which will provide further tasting opportunities, led by experts in the field of wine, including MWs and current MW students.

Debra Meiburg MW, Award-winning author and resident Hong Kong wine expert, will be present to teach particular sections of the masterclass, offering insights and expertise into the world of wine. The Hong Kong programme will conclude with an entry exam for those interested in commencing their studies in the 2016/17 academic year.

The master class invites all interested professionals who are looking to gain invaluable knowledge the Institutes approach to the world of wine. The cost of the master class is HK$2,500 (the price of which includes wines, lunches and two wine dinners) and will take place at Debra Meiburg’s Offices, located on the 9th Floor, Aberdeen Industrial Building, 236 Aberdeen Main Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong.
