“Best Hotels in the World” and “Top Hotels in South America”

According to the readers’ votes, Inkaterra La Casona ranks in place 14 of the“Best Hotels in the World”. The boutique hotel in the Peruvian city Cusco, former capital of the Inca Empire, convinced the readers through its 16th-century building combining the heritage of Incan stone walls and colonial white stucco. Condé Nast Traveler emphasizes La Casona’s “intimacy of a private home” as well as the carefully selected antique furniture that pleasantly contrasts with the modern features. Place 15 on the list is occupied by Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel. Situated in the Andes, near Machu Picchu, its cottages are scattered between waterfalls and gardens like a village. Readers were especially enthusiastic about the surrounding nature that can already be experienced on the grounds of the Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel – for example the impressive variety of bird species and the world’s largest native orchid collection consisting of 372 species. These two hotels even range on the 2nd and 3rd place of the list “Top Hotels in South America”.

“Top Resorts in South America”

On the “Top Resorts in South America” list, Inkaterra Reserva Amazónicaoccupies the 6th place. The family-friendly lodge is located in the rainforest region of Southern Peru und allows its visitors to take part in a variety of excursions in the jungle, to observe birds from their balconies and to relax by lantern light. Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción directly follows in place 7. It is situated in the heart of the Amazon rainforest between the natural reserve Tambopata und Madre Dios river and offers excursions through the rainforest as well. Inkaterra Hacienda Urumbamba – number 11 on the list – is located in the province of Urumbamba, in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
