Best Western Opens in Historic North Jakarta

Best Western International (BWI) has continued its rapid expansion in Indonesia with the launch of a new hotel in Jakarta – BEST WESTERN Hariston.

BEST WESTERN Hariston_Guest RoomLocated in North Jakarta, the newly-built midscale hotel brings more than 200 contemporary rooms and suites to this fast-growing region, close to the city’s port and just 20 minutes’ drive from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

All rooms feature modern amenities including 37-inch flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, in-room movies, minibars and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel also offers an array of guest facilities, including a restaurant, bar, 24-hour room service, an outdoor swimming pool and sauna room. For the corporate and events market, BEST WESTERN Hariston offers 11 meeting rooms.

And the area is now undergoing a renaissance, with a BEST WESTERN Hariston_Exteriorseries of new cultural heritage attractions and retail offerings drawing an increasing number of visitors,” said Glenn de Souza, BWI’s Vice President of International Operations for Asia & the Middle East.

“BEST WESTERN Hariston will cater to the rising number of business and leisure travelers visiting this fascinating area, with a range of modern amenities and our signature service standards that are enjoyed by guests at Best Western hotels all over the world.

“I am delighted to be able to welcome yet another hotel to our fast-expanding Indonesian portfolio, as we strive to meet the soaring demand for comfortable, convenient accommodation across this exciting country,” Mr. de Souza added.

The 201-room BEST WESTERN Hariston becomes BWI’s third hotel in Jakarta, following the 168-room BEST WESTERN Mangga Dua Hotel & Residence and 67-room BEST WESTERN Mega Kuningan, which welcomed its first guests last month.

This brings the company’s nationwide portfolio to 10 hotels in five destinations – Jakarta, Bali, Semarang, Serpong and Malang. But BWI plans to expand its Indonesian collection to more than 30 properties in the coming years, including debut hotels in key cities such as Bandung, Pontianak, Makassar, Banjarmasin, Samarinda and Palu.
