The BEST WESTERN PREMIER Terrace Hotel has won the Silver Award for New Tourism Development at the 2013 Western Australian Tourism Awards and as the only new accommodation venue in this category.

The $20 million tourism development, a joint venture between Hospitality Pty Ltd. and Perrine (Architecture), has transformed Perth’s historical St. George’s House (the ‘Old Bishop’s House’) into the only luxury heritage listed boutique hotel in the heart of Perth’s CBD.

BWPTerraceHotel-ChrisPye_DirectorandTonyWallce_AssistantManager_WATourismAwardsChris Pye, Director, BEST WESTERN PREMIER Terrace Hotel, said “Everything in the building has been designed, no avenues were left unexplored, nor expense spared in terms of the materials applied, such as recycled mahogany and oak and the sensitive renovation of the original floorboards and 3 antique staircases. We take pride in presenting an intimate heritage jewel in the heart of Perth’s CBD, which offers affordable and cutting edge hospitality”.

The original  facilities were extensively and lovingly renovated to create a truly world class hotel, comprising seven custom designed suites, eight deluxe rooms, three beautifully renovated dining and meeting rooms, two alfresco dining areas, a Sommelier’s Tasting Room and a private wine vault, housing over 3,000 wines.

The BEST WESTERN PREMIER Terrace Hotel opened in November 2012, enchanting guests with its wonderfully casual art deco charm in a Great Gatsby-themed hotel, styled on the era of the 1920’s in the midst of the Perth’s modern city environment with an ornamental ‘people watching haven’, attracting regular guests and daily visitors to dine and entertain.

During its first nine months of operation, the hotel won the Australian Hotel WA Association Gold Award for the best hotel wine list, a highly acclaimed Sommelier Award for the Bar Manager/Sommelier (Antonio Vilaca, and was a finalist in five other AHAWA categories); Best Redeveloped Accommodation; Best Deluxe Accommodation and Best Restaurant within an Accommodation venue.

The Western Australian Tourism Awards ceremony and gala dinner, staged annually in Perth, celebrates one of the most prestigious awards in the state, honouring achievements of excellence.
