Beverly Hills outlines latest to interest agents and visitors

egtmedia59Beverly Hills may one of the world’s most sought-after luxury destinations, but its tourism marketing arm doesn’t rest on its laurels. Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) chief executive, Julie Wagner, was in Australia recently to update the trade on latest developments.

Wagner also attended Luxperience. Beverly Hills, the premier holiday and business travel destination in greater Los Angeles, synonymous with Hollywood glamour, grand mansions, chic shops and A-list movie stars, is precisely the sort of product Luxperience seeks.

In fiscal year 2014-2015, the BHCVB travelled to more than 12 countries to market the destination and generate leads with travel agents, tour operators and top media worldwide. Efforts included trade shows, sales missions and media networking events in Australia, Brazil, Canada China, France, India, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

As well as fine hotels, Beverly Hills is known for its art and architecture, spas and salons and exceptional walkability.

Recent developments include:

The Mosaic Hotel, located near both The Peninsula Beverly Hills and The Beverly Hilton, has recently undergone a multi-million dollar makeover with a posh redesign and lush amenities which include Nespresso machines, BVLGARI bath products, super luxe linens and an updated pool area. The interior of the 49-room boutique hotel
was redesigned by luxury London-based ­firm Luxlo as its ­first foray into Beverly Hills.

L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, located behind Beverly Hills City Hall, is ushering a new look for the iconic hotel property, through a full renovation by luxury design fi­rm Smith/Firestone Associates. The all-suite ­five-star, ­five-diamond property will offer a stunning full spectrum of 117 redesigned suites, public areas and restaurant to be completed later this year.

SIXTY Beverly Hills, one block from Rodeo Drive, has undergone a soft renovation and is pleased to now showcase new furnishings throughout the property including beautiful hanging lamps, bright cream-coloured sheers, white marble chrome lined table tops on all credenzas and contemporary bright carpets around each bed, lighted make-up mirrors in all bathrooms along with brighter overhead lighting added.

New Retail & Restaurants:

This past May, KLS, the namesake clothing line by Kimora Lee Simmons, opened its ­first boutique on Beverly Drive. The womenswear line features ready-to-wear pieces, such as dresses, jumpsuits, blouses and trousers with exciting prints and leather accents to liven up any look.

After much anticipation, Sephora has arrived in Beverly Hills. Located at Beverly Drive and Dayton Way, the beauty retail store carries makeup, skincare products, fragrances, hair and nail supplies and much more.

Giuseppe Zanotti’s boutique, purveyor of exquisitely designed shoes and accessories, reopened on Brighton Way with a party attended by Beyoncé and top Hollywood stylists. This reopened flagship is triple the size of the previous store and carries the brand’s entire collection of men’s and women’s shoes, sneakers, bags and accessories.

Making a move from North Rodeo Drive to Two Rodeo, Lladró has also reopened in Beverly Hills. Selling porcelain sculptures, each handcrafted in Spain, the flagship boutique was designed with white walls and curved lines to highlight the intricate pieces within the shop.

Yoga retail stores, Yogasmoga and ALO Yoga, are ­finding their centre in Beverly Hills. Both brands are dedicated to delivering the highest quality of yoga garments and products to the most committed and most fashionable yogis around the globe.

New dining spots have also popped up in town. Spice A‑air on North La Cienega serves authentic Indian cuisine and offers a daily happy hour menu, which includes specialty-crafted cocktails, wine by the glass and non-alcoholic Spritzers.

Pure by Michele La Porta, recently opened on South Beverly Drive, offers a healthy gourmet menu, on-the-go. The restaurant integrates fresh, local and sustainable lunch options with every item on the seasonal menu prepared fresh daily.
